Ingredients
Jaggery 250 gm
Butter / Ghee 25 gm
Preparation
- Roast peanuts. Let it cool and rub to remove the skin and break them in half.
- Grease surface of a plat with ghee and keep aside.
- Heat a wok and add 1/4 cup of water. Add jaggery to it. Stir continuously on low heat.
- Once the jaggery melts and starts to boil, add butter/ghee to it.
- Check consistency of dissolved jaggery by dropping a small drop of it in a bowl filled with water. If jaggery drop turns into a solid drop and sits at the bottom of bowl, then it is cooked otherwise cook it for some more time and repeat the check.
- Turn off the heat and add peanuts and mix well.
- Pour the mixture over greased surface and flat it using rolling pin.
- Make cuts on the spread while it's still hot. You can give any shape of your choice.
- Let it cool. Store in a air tight container.
