Goat masala is curry based dish made with goat meat, usually referred as mutton masala in India. Let me take you through a detailed recipe of my version of goat masala/ mutton masala. I hope you like the recipe, do try it and share your experiences in the comments.
Ingredients
For Marination
Goat Meat 1 lbs
Red chili powder 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Yogurt1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Oil 1 tsp
Oil 1 tsp
For masala
Chopped Onion 2
Tomato and green chili puree 1 cup (green chili as per taste)
Oil 4 tbsp
Bay leave 2
Cloves 3-4
Black pepper 4-5
Black cardamom 2
Coriander powder 2 tbsp
Meat Masala 4 tsp
Serving size 4

Preparation
- In a bowl, mix together all marination ingredients and let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add bay leaves, cloves, black pepper and black cardamom.
- Add chopped onions and stir cook till golden brown.
- Add the marinated goat meat and cover cook for 10 min. Add tomato and green chili paste and mix well.
- Add coriander powder and meat masala and cook until oil separates. Add a little water and close the pressure cooker lid and let it cook for another 10 min.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
