Ingredients

Wheat flour 2 cup
Sweet potato 2 medium
Grated coconut 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder 1 tsp
Sugar/ jaggery (optional)
Oil for deep frying

Serving size: 4

Preparation

  1. Wash sweet potatoes thoroughly and boil them.
  2. Let it cool down and then peel and mash it.
  3. Add Wheat flour and grated coconut and knead it into a smooth dough. If your dough is sticky, add a little more flour.
  4. Adding sugar is optional depending on your taste and the sweetness of sweet potatoes. If you are adding jaggery, melt it in a pan first and add a little more flour to soak moisture.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  6. Make small balls of 1 inch diameter and roll them into poori shapes and place them flat on a plate. Make sure you don't overlap poori(s) to avoid sticking.
  7. Deep fry them on medium heat, 2 or 3 at a time and serve hot.
