Hummus

Ingredients

Tahini sauce  1/4 cup
Chickpeas / Garbanzo beans 500 grams (canned or soaked overnight and boiled)
Lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
Salt 1/2-1 tbsp
Minced garlic clove 1-2
Olive oil 2 Tbsp, plus more for serving
Ground cumin 1 tbsp
Water 2-3 tbsp
Paprika / red chili powder for serving

Preparation

  1. In a food processor, combine tahini and lemon juice and process for 1 min. Scrape the sides of processor bowl and again process for 30 sec. This will make a smooth creamy mixture.

  2. Now add olive oil, salt, cumin and minced garlic to it and process again for 1 min.
  3. Again scrape from all sides and add chickpeas and process it further.
  4. It will be so thick that some of the chickpeas would still be in pieces. For this, add 2-3 tbsp of water and then process again until a smooth paste is ready.
  5. On a serving plate, spread it in a circular motion using a spoon and the pour some olive oil and sprinkle some paprika.
  6. It can be stored in refrigerator for a week.
