Kele Ke Kofte


Raw banana's deep fried balls in spicy and creamy gravy. Have you ever thought of eating bananas this way? Well today is the day to try it. Invite your friends over and surprise them with this delicious spicy "Kele ke kofte". Do try this recipe and let me know in the comments how you like it.

Ingredients

For Kofte

Raw banana 2
Gram flour 2 tbsp
Ginger paste 1/4 tbsp
Green chili paste 1/2 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
Salt to taste

For Gravy

Finely chopped onion 1/2 cup
Tomato puree`1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Green chili paste 1/2 tbsp
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Cashew 4-5
Heavy cream 2 tbsp
Cloves 2-3
Cardamom 1-2
Bay leaf 1
Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
Asafetida a pinch
Coriander powder 2 tbsp
Garam masala 1 tbsp
Red chili paste to taste
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Serving Size: 4

Preparation

Kofte

  1. Cut both edges of banana wash and boil them in pressure cooker for 5-7 min.
  2. Peel bananas and mash it. Now add to it ginger and green chili paste, gram flour, black pepper powder and salt. Make a mixture. Roll small balls from the mixture.
  3. Deep fry the balls until golden brown.

Gravy

  1. Puree` cashews with heavy cream.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add Cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, asafetida, let cumin seeds sputter.
  3. Now add chopped onion and cook until golden. Add ginger garlic, green chili paste and sauté.
  4. Add tomato puree`, turmeric powder and stir. Cook for 1 min.
  5. Add coriander powder, garam masala and cashew paste, salt and red chili powder. Add a spoon of water and keep stirring.
  6. Cook until oil separates. Add 2 cups of water and let it boil for 2 min.
  7. Now add the kofte to the gravy, cover the pan and turn off the heat.
  8. Ready to serve after 5 min, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with white rice or chapati.
